The new 8162-C series optical power probe offers a 5mm detector area or integrating sphere, allowing flexible placement of the remote optical power meter and connection to the N7749C. Multiple adapter options allow input from popular fiber connector types, bare fiber, or open beam. The magnetic D-shaped adapter can be quickly removed and replaced without twisting the connected fiber.

The simple geometric design and high quality detectors provide the highest precision measurements. Some models also offer enhanced metrological reference quality calibration for working standards or other demanding applications.

The N7749C interface supports two to four optical power probes

N7749C optical probe interface controls remote probes. Reading is supported via LAN and USB interfaces, and comes with a built-in web browser GUI and a common SCPI command set for Keysight optical power meters. The double 1M sample buffer of each probe allows continuous sampling of internal or external triggered power values. The average sample time of the probe is usually between 100 microseconds and 10 seconds.

This design makes the N7749C ideal for versatile, accurate measurements that meet a wide range of optical measurement needs.
