The N7745C, a replacement for Keysight's popular N7745A optical power meter, is deeply optimized for high measurement throughput and is suitable for characterizing multi-port optical devices such as multiplexers, PON splitters, wavelength selective switches (WSS) and ROADMs. With high-speed data acquisition and faster data transfer rates, this instrument uses dual-port RAM to simultaneously measure and read results without interrupting operation. In addition, the new function enables faster power range switching and reduces measurement and processing latency. The power threshold trigger feature now also supports transient measurement.

The N7744C also features the reliable N7740 fiber connection design, which is connected via a four-way fiber adapter with a fast locking clip. Even if the instrument is measuring other devices, the device under test can be easily connected to a four-way fiber optic adapter. Once connected, the adapter locks immediately, providing repeatable precision connections.

High channel density saves space and multiple instruments can be easily integrated into a single system for parallel programming control via LAN or USB connection. Common trigger functions throughout the range and a modern user interface accessible through a browser make it easy to configure instrument functions.
